The Fjord 490 is a product of bold innovation and creative collaboration, born from Fjord’s partnership with Marco Casali, a designer celebrated for his work in luxury yachts. Available in two versions, the Sport and the Open, this yacht is engineered to meet the diverse needs of modern boaters, offering a seamless blend of performance, practicality, and style.

Exterior that invites exploration

When you step aboard the Fjord 490, its walkaround deck immediately stands out. Ut’s about making every inch of the yacht accessible. Whether docking, sunbathing, or entertaining, the walkaround layout allows for uninterrupted movement, creating a sense of freedom and openness.

At the aft, beneath the expansive sun pads, lies a large storage area that is as practical as it is discreet. It’s perfect for stowing water toys, cushions, or any gear you might need for a day on the water. The T-Top, a key feature of the yacht’s design, offers excellent protection from the sun and weather while maintaining the sleek lines of the exterior. It can also be equipped with solar panels, catering to eco-conscious owners.

One of the most striking features is the fold-down side balconies, which expand the usable deck space and create a welcoming environment for socializing. These balconies, combined with the yacht’s over 5 square meters of aft sun pad area, transform the Fjord 490 into an ideal platform for relaxing, hosting friends, or enjoying quiet moments on the water.

Interiors that adapt to your needs

Stepping below deck, the Fjord 490 reveals a space designed to adapt to various lifestyles. The standard layout includes two double cabins, each designed with comfort and luxury. The full-beam master cabin, positioned amidships, features expansive windows that stretch over 7 meters, ensuring an abundance of natural light and stunning views of the surrounding seascape.

Customization is at the heart of the interior design. If overnight accommodations aren’t a priority, one of the cabins can be replaced with a U-shaped seating area, offering a more communal space for relaxing or entertaining. The option to adjust bulkheads, rearrange beds, or even create a lounge area gives owners the freedom to tailor the yacht to their specific needs.

The galley is fully equipped for preparing meals, whether it’s a quick snack or a more elaborate dish. For those seated near the helm, VIP seating with dedicated chart plotters ensures the journey is as enjoyable as the destination. The choice of fabrics, finishes, and colors allows for further personalization, making every Fjord 490 as unique as its owner.

Performance built to impress

The performance of the Fjord 490 depends on the version you choose. The Sport  model is all about speed and power, equipped with three Mercury 600 HP V12 outboard engines. With a combined output of 1,800 horsepower, it delivers exhilarating speeds of over 40 knots, ideal for thrill-seekers or those who want to cover long distances quickly.

The Open  version takes a slightly different approach. Powered by two Volvo Penta IPS 700 engines, it achieves a cruising speed of approximately 31 knots, making it perfect for leisurely cruising. For those who crave a bit more speed, upgrading to Volvo Penta IPS 800 engines pushes the top speed to 34 knots, offering a balance of efficiency and performance.

Designed for stability and durability

At its core, the Fjord 490 is built for reliability. Its hydrodynamic hull design and use of reinforced materials ensure a smooth and stable ride, even in less-than-ideal conditions. This focus on durability and safety means owners can confidently take the yacht on longer voyages or more challenging waters.

What sets the Fjord 490 apart is its versatility. It’s not just a yacht for one type of boater or one type of day. Whether you’re hosting a group of friends, enjoying a family outing, or setting off on a solo adventure, the Fjord 490 adapts effortlessly.

The Sport model speaks to those who thrive on speed and excitement, while the Open caters to those who prefer to take life at a more relaxed pace. Yet, both models share the same commitment to quality, innovation, and thoughtful design.
