The Bali 5.8 catamaran by Catana Group is the 14th model in their line, embodying the company’s commitment to innovation and comfort. Designed by Piaton Bercault Yacht Design, it offers a blend of luxury, practicality, and modern aesthetics that cater to both the leisure sailor and the charter market. The Bali 5.8 had its premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, showcasing its impressive features to the yachting community.

Design

At first glance, the Bali 5.8 impresses with its clean and soft lines, embodying a luminous and refined design philosophy that elevates it compared to other Bali catamarans. With a length overall (LOA) of 58 feet and a beam of 29 feet 8 inches, the Bali 5.8 boasts substantial size, allowing for spacious areas both inside and out. The draft measures a modest 4 feet, ensuring versatility for sailing in various depths, while the freeboard approaches 7 feet, which provides additional safety and dryness on board.

Interior

The layout options range from four to six cabins, providing flexibility for different ownership and charter preferences. Each guest stateroom is outfitted with an island berth, giving easy access from both sides of the bed. Also, each stateroom is equipped with its own shower and toilet. For those seeking additional versatility, the yacht can also be customized with twin berths. The master suite, designed with an en suite bathroom and an oversized shower, sets a high bar for comfort and privacy.

The salon is another highlight of the Bali 5.8’s interior. Its U-shaped galley offers both practicality and style, featuring ample cupboard space and a widened countertop, making it ideal for meal preparation in open waters. The dining area comfortably seats 12 guests, and an adjoining lounge area provides a space for relaxation between meals.

A unique feature of the salon is its flexibility: it can be opened or closed in just seconds, allowing the boat to adapt to weather conditions or personal preferences. This indoor-outdoor design is further enhanced by large sliding windows that bring in natural light and ventilation, contributing to the overall feeling of openness and space on board. The forward cockpit, with its spacious seating areas, is perfect for socializing or enjoying quiet moments at sea.

Exterior

The entire flybridge is covered with a hardtop (or optionally a Bimini top), providing shade and protection from the elements without compromising the panoramic views. There is also a wet bar.

At the bow, the Bali 5.8 features a forward door that opens onto a foredeck area, perfect for sunbathing, dining, or lounging. This space, combined with the rooftop lounging area, offers ample room for guests to relax in different settings depending on the time of day or mood. For added convenience, the yacht also comes with an optional hydraulic swim platform at the stern, which can lift a tender or be lowered to create easy access to the water.

Steps at the stern provide direct access to the sea, making swimming and water activities convenient and enjoyable. This thoughtful design ensures that guests can fully enjoy the marine environment without complicated logistics.

Maneuverability and sailing features

Bali 5.8 is designed for ease of handling, with sail systems that simplify maneuvering. The self-tacking jib allows for easier sail adjustments, especially when sailing with smaller crews. The chart table faces forward and is positioned separately. The well-organized sail handling and helm areas contribute to smoother control, ensuring efficient operation whether in open seas or tighter marinas.

Eco-friendly power solutions

The yacht is equipped with solar panels, reflecting a modern, eco-conscious approach, which is increasingly becoming a standard in luxury yachts. These panels can power various onboard systems, minimizing the need for engine use when anchored, thereby enhancing the overall sailing experience.

A new wave in luxury yachting

The  Bali 5.8 catamaran offers a well-rounded package for those seeking a luxury sailing experience with ample space, comfort, and modern amenities. Its flexible interior layout makes it suitable for both private owners and charter operators, while the spacious deck areas and thoughtful design features provide plenty of opportunities for relaxation and entertainment. With a combination of sleek design, innovative technology, and practical features, the Bali 5.8 stands out as a strong contender in the world of luxury catamarans. It’s a yacht that can handle long voyages with ease while providing a high level of comfort for all on board. Whether you’re sailing with family or friends, the Bali 5.8 delivers on both performance and style, making it a worthy addition to Catana Group’s impressive lineup.

We're looking forward to seeing how Bali 5.8 will revolutionize the on-water experience and hearing the experiences of sailors as they embark on their sailing adventures.
